WHY is the Answer

Q&A about the 2-Liter Bottle Collection Fundraiser

What kinds of bottles are being collected?

We are collecting 2-liter plastic soft drink bottles only.  Any color bottle (generally green or clear) is accepted.

What condition should the bottles be in?

Bottles must be empty and undamaged. Caps and labels should be removed and bottles must be clean and dry with no soft drink residue.

How many bottles can I bring in at one time?

We prefer a minimum of 50 bottles per drop-off, placed in large garbage bags. Please have an accurate count of the bottles.

How clean do the bottles have to be?

If bottles are not rinsed right away, a syrupy residue will form inside the bottle. If there is such a residue present, simply swirl the bottle with soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry.

Where do I drop off the bottles?

Bottles can be dropped off at our Sterling International manufacturing facility located in Spokane Valley, Washington on Fridays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Directions: From I-90, take the Sullivan exit. Proceed North on Sullivan Rd.  You will see the Spokane Industrial Park on your right.  Turn right on Kiernan St. Turn right on 4th St. (You will see a blue and white CXT sign). Building 16 will be the third building on your right. Look for the green RESCUE!® sign at the front entrance.

*Pull up onto the ramp located to the left of the front entrance. Please alert someone at the front entrance desk that you are here to drop off bottles.

When and how will I be paid for the bottles I drop off?

Upon inspection of the bottles, a check will be mailed to you or your organization.  You will be given a receipt when you drop off the bottles.  Please allow 10 business days for your check to be mailed.

Can any organization participate?

Any organization is welcome to turn in bottles.

I am not affiliated with an organization; can I still get 10 cents a bottle?

Yes, everyone is welcome and encouraged to turn in bottles.

What is Sterling International?

Sterling International, Inc. is the local manufacturing company behind the popular RESCUE!® Fly, Yellowjacket and Japanese Beetle Traps. We are dedicated to smarter pest control, which means safer, easier and more effective measures.

What happens to the bottles after they are dropped off?

The bottles will be recycled into a new addition to our RESCUE!® product line, the POP! Fly Trap.
